Oh Terence.

May 25th by Jon

Happy Memorial Day.

I’m at the beach with my hott wife and kids judging people that aren’t wearing tankini’s.

Fresh Stuff Christians Like will be back tomorrow.

In the meantime, please enjoy some Terence Trent D’Arby.

P.S. I am going to start every conference speech, sermon, thing where I get to talk to people the same way he does at the eight second mark.

For us unemlightened outsiders, what is Memorial Day? Thanks.

Oh Sew Good May 25, 2009

It’s too bad he didn’t earn enough from his music to afford him some dance lessons. :) He dances better than I do though.

Allie May 25, 2009

Well, that would be a very cool way to start a sermon and I would sit up and listen to you! Unless it didn’t work and you just kept sliding.

Where is TTD now?

You will have to make sure that the floor is very slick and that you have slick shoes. I would pay to see that.

Deek Dubberly May 25, 2009

Does that mean you would have to come out in your socks?

Go for it! However, realize that the vast majority of those of us over 30 will immediately have a flashback to Tom Cruise in “Risky Business.” Your talk is gonna have to be pretty darn good to beat that image!

Karen May 25, 2009

I’d LOVE to see that! Then if it didn’t work you could just say “Razzle Dazzle” and walk off!

Ed May 25, 2009

I still love that song 20 years later! Good post!

Stacy from Louisville May 25, 2009

if you really want to seal the deal you need to incorporate what happens at 2:26 mark and 3:18 mark

Casey and Gina May 25, 2009

I think he’s a good dancer! And I do it for a living (dancing, not kissing).

Penny Malley May 25, 2009

sweeeeet.

sally May 25, 2009

Has it really been 20 years?!

Stacy is right – especially the 3.18 move. It would make for an unforgettable sermon.

Crewgoddess May 26, 2009

My favorite parts are the ones when there are randomly like 80 back up dancers for a split second shot.

Seriously… they probably shot them dancing for hours. Can you imagine being pumped for this awesome music video that has you dancing and then you end up in it for less than 3 seconds!

Ouch.

Are you really saved?

Hucklebuck May 26, 2009

@Lyn,

Memorial Day is a US holiday to honor the men and women who have died in military service. It is a national holiday here and many people have the day off. (Including blogs, apparently)

Tracie May 26, 2009

You just earned another notch in my estimation. Terrence Trent D’Arby. Brought me back, man.

wideyed May 26, 2009

does the judging include guys?

Jennifer Powell May 26, 2009

SWEET! It would be fun to start any talk. I’m a trainer and I will have to figure out a way to do that on carpet…

Kristan May 26, 2009

Start with the intro, but wow us with that ditty between 1:23-1:25. I promise we’d all listen.

Stacy from Louisville May 27, 2009

I so bringing back shoulder pads.

What Kristan said.

Being a child of the 80′s myself, wow…what a horrible time for fashion and hair.
