#59. Watching Jon & Kate Plus 8

You know what my favorite way to relax is after I’ve put my two kids to bed, especially after they’ve been yelling or fighting with each other using that toddler kung-fu they all know how to do with those tiny little fists? I like to watch complete strangers in Pennsylvania raise 8 kids of their own. Next to Amazing Race, which I call “Amazing Panic Attack,” Jon & Kate Plus 8 is really the least relaxing show on the planet. (One of my worst nightmares is missing a flight at the airport, so watching 12 people do that for an hour is why I can’t watch Amazing Race.) But my wife loves it. She thinks the kids are adorable. She loves the hijinks and shenanigans they are always getting in. And of course she loves that they have Bible verses posted all over the house.

Agreed. The mormon faith is not Christian. Just like Scientoligist who think Jesus was really cool are not Christians. There are several very serious and important differences that separate the mormon religion from Christianity. There are even huge differences in catholicism and protestant faith. But those two have a lot more in common than the mormon faith. Mormons created their own book, based on a 'prophets' opinion from finding gold plates (that no one else could see) when his father was ironically a treasure hunter? And the only people that testified on his behalf were related to him? No… the whole faith is based on some lies, and is not Christian whether they recognize Jesus or not.

Mormons do not believe that Jesus is God, they believe that God physically impregnated Mary and that Jesus is God's son like I am the son of my father. This would destroy any significance of his death and resurrection. If you don't believe that Jesus is God, then you are not a Christian. Sorry.
Will the Mormon/Christian debate thing EVER die? Or be modded? (I've got my own opinions about Mormonism, but ouch! Some of you are ridiculously harsh towards Mormons trying to discuss their faith) Plus there's so many comments directed towards each other that aren't very "Christian" at all. I'm not encouraging everyone to censor themselves, but this bickering is ridiculous.
*sighs* This is only my second comment here and probably my last, like with most blogs. I'll keep reading though, because Jon, you are a very funny man with many pearls of wisdom to offer.

I cannot stand shows like this, and have never watched it. however, I do love The Amazing Race.
